Also, the first scene shows a cave filled with fire and Thor is chained in a cage talking to a skeleton which shows that he has been kept captive for a while. Then, after talking to Surtur he ends up fighting him and his "pet" dragon.

The images carry the connotation of fear, yet excitement, and thrills which implies that the movie will be filled with action and continuous high energy.

The action genre is reinforces with the up beat music that is played throughout the opening scene. The movie immediately start with a fight scene between Thor and Surtur along with his minions which heavily symbolizes action films. Also, the title of the movie is displayed in red bold letters which can signifies that the film incorporates violent activities.

The film establish an enigma from the outset by showing the scene where Thor is in the cave in general. The reason for him being held captive is a mystery to the audience in the first scene, as well as why Skurge replaced Heimdale in the common world.

The movie starts with an establishing shot of the cave followed by a series of medium shots and close ups of Thor while he is explaining the reason of how he got in the cave along with few background information that helps the viewers understands the film better. Also, They use simultaneity editing technique when showing Thor fighting and Skurge talking in the real world because they are happening at the same time but in different realms. In addition Technology has been use a lot for effects and exaggerations.
